Art classes for young creators.
I don't know if there is anything more fulfilling than watching a toddler begin his creative career. So excited themselves to begin, the studio looking so big, filled with so many things to touch and explore. This week started our first week of the six week session (don't worry if you aren't already signed up, you can still add and Studio 4 Art will prorate your costs).
This picture shows our youngest group of artists hard at work. This lesson began with throwing on the wheel, learning just like a collage student, gaining hand strength, tactile exploration, clay manipulation, and turning a hump of clay into a pot that will hold treasures for years to come. After our wheel throwing exercise, we were onto an art scavenger hunt, looking for any tools that may create texture in our clay. With each new tool, our students would race back to the potters wheel to "see" what would happen. Eyes wide open, hands gripping tools, potters wheel slowly spinning around, these students were in awe as they engaged with the creative process.
In just our first class, these young artist were able to use machines, tools, clay, and "hunt" around the studio to become familiar with ALL possibilities that are there for them....nothing short of a GOOD TIME!
