This beginning to intermediate class will be learning how to work with clay using a variety of hand-building techniques including slab, coil, or pinching to create functional and sculptural pieces. Bring your own project ideas or follow along with a guided project led by Jamie.
Dress for a mess and bring an old towel
Price includes 1 bag of clay, tools, and instruction
Clay additional clay is available at $30 per 25 lbs bag. Limit of 2 bags of clay per 6-week course.
3 hours of open studio time is included in your fee and is available to practice, make, or paint current work. Open studio time is for all ages.
Wheel throwing is available during open studio time.
Refunds are not provided for missed classes.
Jamie Westermeyer
Jamie is a recent graduate from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Ceramics and a minor in Art History. She’s excited to be back in California after spending 13 years in Missouri. Her ceramic work was recently exhibited Internationally at the MenLo Gallery in Jingdezhen, China. Before coming to Studio 4 Art she was an Activities assistant for the before and after school program with the Rockwood School District. When not teaching and making work she enjoys hiking and eating pizza!
