Classes: All classes include the price of all art supplies, glazes and firings. Classes taught by well-qualified instructors. Class size is limited. 4 children in classes for ages 2-3, up to 8 children in classes for ages 4-15. Steps: 1) Register at any time. All Studio4Art classes are ongoing and can begin at anytime of the month. 2) Choose Day/Time. 3) Fill out enrollment form. Payment-in-full required before class. 4) Payment may be made by personal check, cash, VISA or Mastercard. 5) Enrollment may be made in person or by mail. Make-up Classes: • One make-up class per monthly session on a space-available basis. • Make-ups must be arranged at least 2 days in advance. • Make-ups available for the enrolled session only. Working from nature, stll-lives, photographs and independant ideas, students will be introduced to specific drawing fundamentals and techniques including line drawing, value, shape, pattern, texture, shading, perspective and composition. Personal style is celebrated. |

Handbuilding techniques will be explored in workshops using pinch pots, solid build up projects, coiling, slab construction, slumping and draping methods. All items will be created with cone 5 clay, fired in kiln and then hand decorated with underglazes and fired to final maturity. |

From single panel, 3 or 4 panel comic strips to comic books, cartooninsts will begin to understand how to create a cartoon. Workshops focus on expression, shadow, stance/body language, perspective and dialog balloons. We also explore how to create movement, themes, sequence and examine the importance of exaggeration. |

Wheelthrowing begins with learning to center clay, pull up walls, shaping and the final detail of trimming a foot. Items will be thrown from cone 5 clay that will be enhanced with hand decorated details using glazes, underglazes and textured techniques. |

Incorporating drawing fundamentals students will add color mixing, layering, studies from art history and independant ideas into their curriculum. Mediums explored are watercolors, tempera, acrylic and oil. |

Mosaics are made up of small objects such as colored glass, stones, recycled materials, tiles, handmade figurines out of clay, handmade tiles, and broken china. Mosaic work will be created on wood mirrors, wooden sculpture forms, panels, stepping stones and flower pots. Terminology and technique will be discussed in workshops and color, pattern and design will be emphasized. |

Using felt to create monsters, dolls, robots, pillows, holiday items or anything the imagination brings. Workshop will focus on backstitch, over sewing, blanket and running stitches. Also learn how to appliqué and sew on patches to existing items such as clothes, pillows and cloth bags |

For children over 7, we will explore machine sewing creating aprons, pillows, fleece hats, skirts, animals and creatures. Most items are made by creating your own pattern. |
